CLEANING COMPANY PREDICTS A SPARKLING 50 PC INCREASE IN TURNOVER THANKS TO A & A SOLUTIONS
A Scarborough cleaning company has predicted it will increase its turnover by 50 pc in the next year thanks to a dynamic financial model by management accountants Absolute & Accurate Solutions (A & A Solutions).
Spectrum Cleaning Solutions – which supplies products to hundreds of customers in North Yorkshire on a monthly basis – is on a high growth drive thanks to the implementation of a strategic business plan by A & A Solutions.
Tees Valley based A & A Solutions – which provides financial management services to businesses – is working with Spectrum to look at the bigger picture of the company to expand its customer base and consolidate the product range to increase financial margins.
In addition to the pro-active business direction, A & A Solutions also works as the company’s day-to-day finance department.
Jo Thompson, managing director of Spectrum, said: “I started the business with my husband in 1998 travelling around in a van and knocking on doors, 12 years later and the business is growing at an incredible rate.
“A & A Solutions was able to come into the business and see the wood from the trees, to provide an outside perspective of how the company can grow by altering our internal approaches and systems.
“We noticed an impact on a strategic level within the company immediately and we have now improved our range, customer service and have the time to strategically target future clients.”
Spectrum has already streamlined the product range by cutting more than 250 products off its stock list to provide customers with an easier and more concise choice. The range now offers three alternative versions of each product – quality, value for money and ecological - so customers can make an informed decision.
Spectrum – which works with a number of high profile clients, including Scarborough Borough Council, Flamingo Land and The Magpie Cafe - is focusing on increasing its customer base outside of the 90 mile radius it currently works within in North Yorkshire.
It is also anticipated to be working with a large bakery retailer, which has more than 30 stores in Yorkshire and East Riding, in the coming months and has appointed a logistics manager to the workforce of eight.
Steve Tout’s appointment will help to improve customer service and he will be responsible for the warehouse and distribution. The company is also looking to recruit a further two people to its support and distribution team.
A & A Solutions was set up by Anthony Finegan, following a career in various sectors, including large and small family-owned businesses, start ups, venture capital-backed organisations and sole traders.
The management accountancy firm has developed a financial model, which has been proven to work for any business, from sole traders to sizeable companies like Spectrum.
“Spectrum is a fantastic business, which now has all the procedures in place to double its turnover in the next year; this sounds ambitious but it is a reality,” said Mr Finegan.
“We have created a black box of financial management tools, which can be applied to any company, no matter what size, to help them grow. It enables companies to focus on the bigger picture and prevent them from getting tied down with day-to-day financial issues.”
